Velociudad´s Project Manager

Introducing Pedro Lagleyze, an Argentine architect with over 20 years of experience, who has recently joined the Velociudad team and working on our multi-functional motorsport venue.

The construction of an unprecedented, world class "Speed City" in Argentina undoubtedly represents a unique challenge and major responsibility for any native professional who takes part in the project. While assembling the local project management team, Velociudad executives have meticulously chosen Argentina´s top engineering and architectural minds to work alongside with Populous to deliver a spectacular FIA Grade 1 motorsport facility.

One of them is Pedro Lagleyze. Having graduated from the University of Buenos Aires with an architectural degree in 1989, Lagleyze has over 20 years of experience in Project and Construction Management, and Architectural Design. During those years, Lagleyze has participated in an extensive number of successful commercial and residential developments. Examples include Telefónica de Argentina Rivadavia Center, 38 Buenos Aires branch renovations for Bank of Boston, Cariló Sur, and American Express Headquarter relocation in Buenos Aires, among others. However, Pedro is best known in Argentina for managing the constructions of the exquisite 5 star Sofitel and Algodón Mansion (voted among the Best 2011 New Hotels by Travel + Leisure).

To Lagleyze, architecture is much more than a profession: "It is a system of thinking that allows one to see reality in layers. To know when and how to maneuver those layers and balancing them correctly is a necessary skill in order to understanding the system, along with its emotional, creative, esthetic, technic and commercial components".

His father, who was an engineer, greatly influenced Pedro to become an architect. Based on his formation as a professional, he meets his objectives with solid and detailed planning, along with an incessant search for creative solutions, top quality, minimal costs and strategic timing as his unbreakable premise. Pedro is best known in the industry for his ability to adapt international projects to local Argentine construction and regulatory standards.

In sharing further thoughts on the project, Lagleyze concludes "Velociudad is a wonderful challenge for my professional career. It´s not only about building a state-of-the-art racetrack, it's also about creating a center of automotive education and a hub of human excellence. Being part of a venture which is so beneficial for Argentina brings me a great sense of pride".
