"We need a venue like Velociudad"

Julio de Marco, Chairman of Módena Auto Sport and representative for Ferrari and Maserati in Argentina shares his insights on Velociudad.

De Marco is an experienced businessman in the motorsport industry. In his opinion, "It is of great importance for our country to have a motorsport facility with Velociudad´s characteristics." De Marco's thoughts are based on three key elements: improvement of the sport, Argentina´s global positioning in the industry and an excellent commercial hub.

In reference to the FIA Grade 1 homologation of the 4.7 km circuit, de Marco shows much enthusiasm as he thinks it will seduce international competitions to return to Argentina. "Besides Formula 1, it would be thrilling to host other interesting competitions such as the Ferrari-Maserati Cup that has been disputed all around the globe."

Apart from the prestigious brands that de Marco represents, he also holds the licenses for Bell Helicopters, Cagiva Motor Bikes and Riva Speed Boats. Due to his work, he travels frequently to different cities all over the country and feels that Velociudad has made the right choice for picking Zarate as its venue. He comments, "It´s a strategic location, on a favorable distance of Argentina's major cities. It's a perfect choice with great criteria."

The absence of a professional location for car manufactures to test drive their car models is the main concern for de Marco. "Argentina lacks a venue where we can test cars in various conditions. The multifunctional facilities at Velociudad is what makes the project outstanding, I think that is its best characteristic."

We'd like to thank Mr. de Marco for his time and valuable input with us at Velociudad. We're delighted to know that our future facilities will be of great service to many businesses in the motorsport industry.
